The Trustees of the New York Detectives’ Endowment Association are pleased to announce that Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, MetLife, will be taking over as plan administrator for the current Dental Benefit Plan for Active and Retired Members.
You will be automatically enrolled in the new plan – no action required. You can begin using your benefits on or after September 1, 2026. To validate your coverage, simply inform your dentist that you now have MetLife dental insurance. Verification may be done by providing your DEA Health Benefit ID Number.
All members will be receiving a mailing within the next week with an explination of benefits.
Physical ID Cards are not required, or used to validate eligibility, but a generic copy will be included in your mailing in the event you would like to keep a copy in your wallet as an added level of security. You can also download a digital ID card and store it in your Apple Wallet via MyBenefits. The Benefit Plan designs are outlined on our website, and you can reference video links for additional information.
