On behalf of the Trustees of the DEA’s Health Benefit Fund, Retirees Health Benefits Fund and the DEA Board of Officers, please be advised that the Funds will be changing dental insurance carriers effective September 1st, 2026.
The contract with our current carrier, Cigna Dental, will expire on August 31st. I am pleased to announce effective September 1st, our new dental insurance plan will be provided by MetLife for our active and retired members and their eligible dependents.
MetLife offers a PPO dental plan with an extensive provider network of high-quality general, specialist and pediatric providers in the New York Metropolitan area for our active members and their families as well as a national network throughout the United States for our retired members who reside out of state.
In the coming weeks, all members will receive a joint mailing from the DEA Health Benefits Fund and MetLife introducing the new program. The
mailing will provide all the details regarding the new plan and the coverage.
